Today I watched my cousin's grandson, who calls me Aunt Julie. He is so precious, he is about 18 months old. When he laid down for his nap at 2 I started on my picture "collage" thingie that I am putting together for my son's graduation get together Sunday night. I've spent previous hours going through pictures, then sorting out the ones I'm going to use. Today I started cutting them and shaping them, I'm about half way through that process. Next will be deciding how to arrange them on the presentation board and then fasten them down and decorate it! I hope I have it done before Saturday, because we have ball games on Saturday, and tomorrow is shot, because we leave the house at 2 and don't get back home until 10, so that leaves Thursday and Friday. Anyway, I'm enjoying looking at all the memories!! :O)

Happy Memorial Day

Well, I'm sure this won't be an every day occurence, this is my 3rd entry for today. I just wanted to add a couple of pictures from our get together at my parent's house. We had my husband's mom and step-dad over and Stephen's beautiful girl and two buddies from church in addition to our family. They rode the go-cart, drove a remote control truck (into a tree), climbed trees, played some games and ate, ate and ate some more. We prayed over our troops currently serving and thanked God for our freedom given to us by Him through the lives of those that have gone on before us.
God Bless America!
I would like to say a little more about my family. Greg is a mechanic and works for a nearby city. He fixes everything and anything. He teaches middle school boys Sunday School and sings in the choir. He can build anything you can think of. His dad left him a great legacy. Jeff works for a major insurance company, helps coach a church basketball team for our church, plays tuba and some guitar, and sings in the choir, ohhhh how he sings! And he is married to Melanie, who has worked her way up the ranks for a local cardiologist. They have known each other their whole lives, grown up together in church. She also coaches, the cheerleaders for our church basketball teams. Jeremy helps Greg run the game time for the AWANA program at our church. Jeremy works for the local phone company and also has inherited the knack for working on "things". He loves to play on the water with his Jet-Ski. Brandon will be finishing his BA this fall semester and going on to teach. He also teaches High School Boys Sunday School, is the assistant director of our AWANA program, coaches a basketball team at church and also coaches one of our men's softball team at church, he also sings in the choir, ohhhhh how he sings! I homeschool my 2 youngest sons. Next is Stephen, who has graduated this year. He has led worship on Wednesday nights in the youth group for the last few years. He plays bass and acoustic, and has written a few songs. He has enjoyed many activities over his years in youth, including summer camp every year( SO AWESOME )truely a mountaintop experience that I wish everyone could have at least once!!, Two mission trips with World Changers, and one coming up this summer. Two ski retreats with wonderful Bible studies. He has enjoyed being involved in the drama department as well. And so much more... But now he is moving up to the College and Career class who also have many wonderful opportunities to serve. Not to mention his teachers are 2 of the most Godliest teachers I know. They are also VERY good friends of our family. Too, Too special!!! Stephen also sings in the choir, ohhhhh how he sings!! Oh my, then there is Connor! He is in middle school and is aspiring to be the next Jeff Corwin. He LOVES critters!! And that has to be the understatement of the year! He also has been involved in the drama department this year. He loves playing jokes on people, he loves hugging everyone, he loves helping people, he loves...LIFE! He is so full of life that just looking at him always makes me smile. He is learning the piano and guitar and he also sings, ohhhhh how he sings! Oh yeah, there's me, Julie, in spite of dealing with fibromyalgia (severely at times) I love my life, it is full and never dull! I sing in the choir, and play the keyboard in morning worship, and starting this summer, my husband and I will be teaching the middle school department as a whole on Wednesday evenings. Well, I think that's it. I just wanted to introduce you to my family. Thanks!

Count Your Blessings

Picture Order: Jeremy, Greg, Jeff
Julie, Melanie
Stephen, Connor, Brandon

I came across someones' idea to blog one year of their life, and that really inspired me. I thought, "How many times have I wondered WHERE has the time gone?!" I love to take pictures, but now that the digital age has come along I don't print many anymore. So if I can figure this thing out and post a couple of pictures everyday, then I will REMEMBER where the time has gone :O) This picture was actually taken on Mother's Day, May 11, 2008. I can begin with the 8 most wonderful blessings I could ever hope for; My salvation, My precious husband Greg, My handsome son Jeff, My beautiful daughter-in-law Melanie, My fun-loving son Jeremy, My wonderfully-caring son Brandon, My writing son Stephen AND My full-of-life son Connor. Might I add they are all Very handsome , Very Loving, and Very talented or should I say Blessed with Gifts from God. In no particular order these are some of their gifts. They teach, coach, fix things, sing, play instruments, act, write... I'm not trying to brag, but I am proud of them, Thank You God for my family.
